term three week five

Last week I learnt how to make a bag in sewing first you have pick a image that is going to go on it then you cut out the fabric with the picture on it then you start making you bag. we also did our speeches last week and I made it into the class finals which I am nervouse about because I dont really want to get into the school finals. On Saturday we won our rugby game against Taupiri which was our first win and I had a friend over we stayed up and watched the All Blacks and on Sunday me and my friend did the score board for senior rugby but that was ruined by Sir Colin Meads dying which I am sad about and I didn't even see one of his rugby games but he was a great rugby player. we also did two test last week I feel like I did pretty good with those same with my maths which I caught up with. All I have to do with my analysis is to print it off and do my succese critria.

term 3 week three post

Last week I satrted to learn how to make a bag in soft materials first you have to find a simple image then draw out the border on paper the trace the image then repeat it on fabric. In maths I learnt to convert metric measurment and to find the pereimeter of polygons this work was simpls but helped me get the basic idea on these things also I didn't fall behind in this and got it finished I am looking foward to learning more about perimeter and area. I have done well with my speech and all I have to do is the conclusion I dont understand what you have to withn analysis are  you supposed to write about them what they like I dont know? I am nervous about my student led confrence I am nervouse about what the teacher is going to say, one of my goals in it was to get my bronze badge by the end of term three and I only need seven more signatures. We didn't do any writing last week because we were busy with other things. We got to go to the college expo last week and have a look at what the offer for special classes like wood work, metal work, food and lots more I think when I am a year eight I will go for metal work,food and maybe visual art I am not sure about the last one though.

term2 week 10 blog post

Last week I learnt how to change a fraction into a percentage and a decimal and what the percentage is of fractions we should know like one third is thrity three recuring percent and six sevenths is 85.71. In wood work I made two perspect shapes for a key ring and it is a lot harder to cut then wood with a jig saw because it melts from the heat of the blade. On Friday we had friday sport it was a great day to have we had to be careful though because their was a pitbull terrier running round but our team won both our games that we were playing. I also did lots of work last week finshing my inquiry,book review and my arguement writing but next term we have speeches and I am better at having the the topic choosen for me instead of picking my own thats why I am a nervous. I think doing maths at home is really helping me I enjoy it, it make me feel good completing it and it takes the stress off me at school.

week 9 term 2 post

Last week in wood work I have started to catch up to the rest of the class and I have nearly finished my letter and now I have to connect the battery. I also have been doing some maths at home to help me catch up with work and it has been really helpful now I am almost at the work I should be up to and I am up to paragraph three for my arguement I hope to start editing this week. I have started to work on my book review more and I think I will get all my work done if I work really hard these last two weeks of the term all I have left to do is maths,inquiry,book review and arguement writing.

week 8 term 2

last week I learnt what some fractions and their decimals form like 3/4 are 0.75 and 1/10 is 0.1 this was helpful even though it was just basic because I only know a little bit about decimals. I learnt that if you are caught not wearing a bike helmet while biking you can be fined 55 dollars and that their is a speed limit for cyclists at 45 kilometer per hour which I think is fair. I am a bit nervous about next term because of speeches I don't have any ideas of what to do my speech on. In wood work I learnt how to melt and shape acrylic into a wind spiral using hot irons to melt them then twist

Week five post

Wow what a week lots of vandalism, swimming sports and more tests. The up and go machine was completely wrecked twice last week and it was students at our school who did it. I learnt that it doesn't matter if you don't know the person you still cheer for them which I did at school swimming sports and lost my vs after even though mangapiko lost, I had a great day. I also learnt that you shouldn't give up no matter what place you in first or last and people will cheer for you and that's what I like about intermediate. I also have learnt about the colossus of Rhodes thanks to the explanation writing  (which I have finished) I didn't even know it was a wonder of the world till now. I also learnt about being safe around water and boats and what to do if you alone or with people and lots of other things that would be helpful.

Week one post of Term 2 and goals

Last week I learnt how to find the rule in algebra and how to write it the right way instead of times you us n and you write it backwards like 2n+1 and that in your graph if the line that connects your dots isn't straight it is incorrect I also learnt last week that we have a book review which I need to finish by the end of the term and I am already half way through the book. In vocabulary I learnt what a whole lot of word's mean like intricate which means very detailed or complex and impede which means to delay or stall. My goals for this term are to represent the school at something and try to get a badge on my jersey and that I make my book review as good as I can because this a topic I like to read about even though is my first one. My writing goal is to use lots of fanboys and awubis and do editing correctly. My maths goal is to tr my best at work and if I

Term 1 reflection

Term one has been a great term I learnt that in room three you have to work hard and challenge yourself with every thing  that you do and if you don't get it done you better do it in your own time like lunch and after school. I also learnt that you participate in lots of interhouse and interclass competitions like softball and summer games. I feel that I have made lots of progress in my work even though we have just finished term one and I can't wait to see if I improve in term two in my writing and maths, these are all good things but I need to work on my maths because I'm struggling with things such as integers, multiplication algorithms and bedmas I understand them but I don't know my multiplication enough to just get they answer straight away and that's why I struggle with multiplication algorithms . I also need to start moving out of my fixed mindset into a growth mindset which I want to start in term two because this term I felt like I went out of my comfort zone a tiny bit in work, I need to challenge myself more in terms of putting my hand up for sports. I am learning what integers are and do division and multiplication algorithms which are actually really useful for helping you multiply.I am also learning french with Mrs Shaw which is new to me and we have been learning to say greetings and count to ten. I also learnt this term how to play softball and danish rounders properly which helped in interclass competitions softball is a game that you have to be smart at you just can't swing or hit the ball whenever or where ever or you will be out. I am learning how to edit writing the proper way instead of just looking at punctuation and the mistakes I am learning to look at what you could improve or change and seeing if my I could make the word better or make my simple sentence into compound and complex sentences. This term I learnt lots of things and next term I definitely am going to learn more and I am going to try and achieve these goals.

Wellington reflection

At the Wellington Zoo I learnt that more animals adapted then I knew about like the boa constrictor adapted to the rough tree bark so it's scales become similar to sandpaper. also that Spider Monkeys tales were like a third arm or leg it was really fascinating and funny seeing the animals react to us. At Zealandia I learnt about Bird and Insects that I have never heard of before like the leaf vain slug and the saddle back which are really spectacular sight and that the saddle back is distant relative of the huia and also kokako. I also learnt at the space place that if you look closely sometimes you can see planets but they just look like bright stars and also the big telescopes that astronomers use have little guiding telescopes on the side to help them find the planet or star there looking for because one small movement in the big telescope is hundred's of kilometers in space. At Capitial E I learnt that being camera man is actually really important so is everyone else on set like the vision mixer can't do there job with out the sound operator. At Weta Workshop I learnt that an actor has to sit in a chair with a plaster on their face for four hours just to get a face model  and how to make homemade fake blood also that wearing some of the armour that they make you would get really hot in. H2o extreme that was so fun going down the yellow water slide my stomach went into my mouth and in the wave pool I just wanted to relax and melt in the water Wellington was so much fun Thank you.

week six and seven post

In week six I learnt how to use factors,prime factors, least common multiple and highest common factors in my maths from this I learnt that factors and multiples are helpful when trying to find the highest common factors and least common multiples. I also learnt that in the holocaust they also killed physically and mentally disabled people, African Germans,gypsies instead of just Jews. I also learnt that I need to work on my punctuation in my writing otherwise it's hard to read.

In week seven I learnt about bedmas ( brackets,exponents,division,multiplication,adding and subtracting) at first I had no idea how to do it then when we did the worksheet I understood and found it easy. I learnt that during the holocaust that German scientist tried to slow down the reproduction of humans and gave children steroids that wouldn't allow them to have kids and that Hitler wanted a perfect human race you had to have blonde hair,blue eyes and had to be tall otherwise you were dead

reflection week four

• reflections week four                                                                                                                         last week I learnt that with soft ball you have to be cautious not to swing at balls that you know you will miss other wise you will most likely get out.  I also learnt that how to put powers with there numbers and also how to find the exact total of numbers of the given number I also learnt in tech arts we learnt about polynesian and maori war dance's and haka's and learnt how to play a tune on the key board and ukulele. I learnt that for friday sports there is a man interested in starting up a lawn bowls team for intermediate and I put my hand up to trial for it

Week 3 Post

Last week we started friday sports there were lots of choices to pick I gave indoor bowls a go and you really have to think about it like which angle should bowl it on so it curves and what side is weighted but it got really annoying when a ping pong ball would roll on your mat just as you were about to  bowl. We also started french well sort of Mrs Shaw showed us some short videos also a few stories and introduced us to french she also explained about the New Mia trip and some activites you got to do.
